Chevy Chase, Maryland (December 8, 2022) — It was announced today that NCSSS Executive Director Todd Mann has been elected as Chair of the STEM Education Coalition, a role that will further elevate awareness of NCSSS and enhance its status as a key resource in the STEM ecosystem.
“NCSSS brings an invaluable perspective to the work of the STEM Education Coalition,” said National Council of Teachers of Mathematics executive director Ken Krehbiel. Added outgoing Coalition Chair Krehbiel, “Todd’s leadership as chair will be a great benefit to the broader STEM education community.”
The mission of the STEM Education Coalition – an alliance of more than 600 business, professional, and education organizations – is to raise awareness among policymakers at every level about the critical role that science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education play in enabling the U.S. to remain the economic and technological leader of the global marketplace of the 21st century.
“NCSSS is an incredible partner in our Coalition’s efforts to inform policymakers about excellence, opportunity, and equity in STEM, said Stem Education Coalition executive director James Brown. “Its member schools are both great examples and great laboratories for innovation in the critical STEM fields that have helped us define and raise the bar for students.”
