Bob Lussier is the General Manager for the Customer Success Unit in US Education, which represents a $1B+ consumption portfolio and a 250+ person organization across the US. The Customer Success organization is focused on accelerating customer value and adoption of Microsoft’s Cloud platform for Higher Ed, K-12, and Museums. Lussier’s team of cloud solution architects and customer success managers help EDU customers get the most value possible from Microsoft’s four solution areas of Data & AI, Apps & Infrastructure, Modern Workplace, and Business Applications.


Bob has worked with Microsoft for nearly 20 years, most recently leading the Modern Work & Security Solutions team. This represents a $500M business, including sales and the #ConsumptionCulture required to help customers adopt, deploy, and realize value.


Prior to joining the #EDUInspires team, Bob was a Sales Director in the Southeast Commercial business and helped launch Office 365 as the East Region Landing Lead. Bob also served six years as an Account Executive calling on Fortune 500 accounts in Atlanta. He originally joined Microsoft as a Partner Account Manager after managing the Microsoft Alliance at Clarus, a global software company.


Bob stays active in his community by coaching and board service work with local Youth Baseball and through fundraising with Saprea, a non-profit that provides resources to help prevent and heal from sexual abuse. He and his wife are also involved with the Atlanta Lab Rescue facility, both fundraising and rescuing four dogs over the years.

Smyers is a member of the EDUCAUSE Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Board and has been named as one of CRN’s “Top 100 Women of the Channel” 2009–2013 and named to its advisory board. She is also committed to empowering the next generation of leaders and supporting her local community. She serves on the board of several community nonprofits including Friends of Marblehead Public Schools, MassCUE, and the Marblehead Family Fund.

Smyers holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business, and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Trinity College-Hartford. She is a sports enthusiast, an active triathlete in the summer and an alpine backcountry skier in the winter. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband and two sons.
