Mathematics Instructor

Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts (ASMSA)

The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts (ASMSA), a campus of the University of Arkansas System, invites applications from highly qualified candidates for an anticipated opening in the Mathematics and Computer Science Department as a mathematics instructor beginning August 2015. This is a ten-month, full-time opening.   ASMSA is a public, residential high school for academically talented and motivated eleventh and twelfth grade students from across Arkansas.

In 2014, ASMSA was ranked among the nation’s Top 10 secondary schools in The Daily Beast’s annual survey of “America’s Top High Schools.” ASMSA’s “college bridge” program offers advanced high school coursework as well as university coursework through partnerships with other Arkansas colleges and universities.

A Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics or a related area is required, including at least eighteen graduate hours in mathematics.

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJ)

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJ) is seeking math and computer science teachers for Fall 2015.  Established in 1985, TJ, located in Alexandria, VA about 10 miles outside of Washington, DC is the result of a partnership of businesses and schools created to improve education in science, mathematics, and technology. As the Governor's School for Science and Technology in Northern Virginia, the school is also supported by the Virginia Department of Education. Unlike some other magnet schools, TJ has a four-year, comprehensive, full day program which includes an activity period (resulting in an extended school day) and a full sports program.

The mission of TJ is to provide students with a challenging learning environment focused on math, science, and technology, to inspire joy at the prospect of discovery, and to foster a culture of innovation based on ethical behavior and the shared interests of humanity.

2015-16 SCHOOL YEAR - ANTICIPATED OPENING

Due to its recent growth, the Maine School of Science and Mathematics invites applications for the following anticipated opening for the 2015-2016 school year:

Instructor – Modern Language (FT): The Modern Language teacher will be responsible for teaching four sections of a modern language, while also providing extensive tutoring, mentoring and academic support for the students at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics. Faculty duties include student advising, overseeing a co-curricular activity, and weekly office hours.

Qualifications: MSSM seeks qualified faculty with a distinguished record of success in the classroom.

Instructor - US History (FT)

MAINE SCHOOL OF SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS

Instructor - US History (FT): The US History instructor will be responsible for teaching four sections of US History or three sections of US History and one section of a social science (preferably economics/US government), while also providing extensive tutoring, mentoring and academic support for students at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics. Faculty duties include student advising, overseeing a co-curricular activity, and weekly office hours.
