The John C. Dunham STEM Partnership School is an inquiry-based school serving third through eighth grade students on the campus of Aurora University in Aurora, Illinois. The multi-generational partnership school was authorized through legislation receiving bipartisan support and opened in August, 2014 as a collaboration between a university, school districts, the corporate sector, not-for-profit partners and two national laboratories.

The Director of the John C. Dunham STEM Partnership School works collaboratively with partners to lead teachers, students from four local school districts and partners in this innovative approach to STEM education.

The Director of the John C. Dunham STEM Partnership School has primary responsibility for the educational program and operational aspects of the school. The Director works with university faculty, school district partners, and corporate/non-profit institutions to assure the on-going successful implementation and evaluation of the school’s instructional programs.   In addition, the Director collaborates with the leadership of the school districts and University in designing, implementing and evaluating the After School and Summer STEM Programs and teacher professional development programs related to STEM.

Essential Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree required
  • Doctorate degree preferred
  • Major in STEM discipline preferred
  • Illinois Professional Educator License Administrative Endorsement required
  • Successfully completed the Illinois Evaluation Modules by August 15, 2015 required
    • 3-5 years proven administrative experience preferred
