Instructor – Modern Language (FT)



Due to its recent growth, the Maine School of Science and Mathematics invites applications for the following anticipated opening for the 2015-2016 school year:

Instructor – Modern Language (FT): The Modern Language teacher will be responsible for teaching four sections of a modern language, while also providing extensive tutoring, mentoring and academic support for the students at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics. Faculty duties include student advising, overseeing a co-curricular activity, and weekly office hours.

Qualifications: MSSM seeks qualified faculty with a distinguished record of success in the classroom.

Preference will be given to individuals holding a Master’s degree in the language of instruction or native experience in that language. A successful candidate will exhibit excellent communication and organization skills, as well as a willingness to work with intellectually gifted youth both in and outside of the classroom.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience.

All successful candidates will exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as willingness and desire to work with high school students in a close-knit, residential community. Full time faculty members at the Maine School of Science and Mathematics are also required to advise a club or activity and to participate in MSSM's student advisory program.
