Student Success Coordinator at ASMSA
Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA)
The Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA), a campus of the University of Arkansas System, invites applications for a twelve-month, full-time opening beginning June 1, 2017. The student success coordinator will provide oversight of the ASMSA Scholar Development Program that ensures success for top-performing students at the national level.
Responsibilities will be shared among a team of Student Success Coordinators based on individual competencies and strengths. The SSC will offer planning strategies on test prep, essay writing and selective college admissions, facilitate leadership development curriculum that promotes community and social responsibility.
The position assists faculty in identifying and promoting internship, research and summer learning opportunities and assists research faculty and students in fielding competitive applications for the Siemens Competition, Intel Science Talent Search, NCSSS Summer Research Conference and other national and international programs. A Master of Secondary Guidance Counseling, Student Affairs, or a related field with intensive writing is preferred. Superb written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
Experience in school counseling or selective university admissions is preferred.
Experience in teaching, conducting workshops and facilitating group activities.
Candidate must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident.
